Two new 360 film commissioning opportunities

We are pleased to open two new commissions around PEOPLE and PLACE as part of a series of three that includes the immersive PLANET piece commissioned last year.

This project is part-funded by Cornwall Council from the Culture and Creative Industries Innovation Fund, working in partnership with Cornwall and West Devon Mining Landscape World Heritage Site and Creative Kernow's Extraordinary Art in Everyday Places programme.

You may apply for both commissions if you wish, however please note that we would not make two awards to the same company so if you were shortlisted we would ask you to confirm your preference for which project to take forward.

If you would like to discuss alternative ways to apply, or need support with your application please contact Screen Cornwall info@screencornwall.com 07852 989 964
Deadline for Applications: Friday 21st February 2025, 12 noon (UK time)

Commission 1 – PLACE
In partnership with the Cornwall and West Devon Mining Landscape World Heritage Site,  we are seeking ideas for an immersive 360 film that shares the story of Cornwall’s physical landscape and its impact on industries and communities over past, present & future.

Commission 2 – PEOPLE

We are seeking ideas for an immersive 360  film that looks at the younger generation’s perception of their Cornish identity and their hopes for the future, working actively with groups of year 10 & 12 students as part of their project based work experience.

FAQs

We have had several questions and have produced some clarifications as follows:

People Commission - the contracted company does not have to arrange or pay for the work experience facilitation within their budget, however they will need to work on the creative brief for these groups and agree it with Screen Cornwall by w/c 5th May as well as being available for a facilitator briefing call w/c 19th May 2025. The groups have been filled through an open call to school so most of them will include both year 10 and year 12 students from a variety of schools and colleges across the region.

Place Commission- the contracted company does not need to build a companion website to the piece.
