Announcing the Immersive Innovation Programme Cohort

Screen Cornwall and Creative Kernow Associates are thrilled to announce the participants of our Immersive Innovation Programme. Designed to foster ambitious CreaTech and immersive projects in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, this programme bridges the visual, cultural, and heritage sectors with screen and technical expertise.

By building skills in 360 production and immersive content creation, participants will have the opportunity to develop groundbreaking ideas with support from experienced mentors and a vibrant peer network. Stay tuned as we follow their journey in pushing the boundaries of immersive storytelling and innovation!

Agnieszka Blonska and Jennifer Fletcher

Jennifer Fletcher and Agnieszka Blonska are dynamic creatives working across theatre, film, opera, and interdisciplinary performance. Jennifer, a director and choreographer, has collaborated with National Theatre Wales, Wildworks, and Theatre Royal Plymouth, among others. Agnieszka, a director and performer, creates socially engaged work with institutions like Bristol Old Vic, Tate St Ives, and Teatr Powszechny. Together, they co-directed We’ve Been Here, exploring resilience and womanhood through Cornish grandmothers’ stories. Both are lecturers at Falmouth University, dedicated to innovation and inclusivity in their practice. 

Charlie Bunker and Gabby Vautier - imPOSSIBLE

imPOSSIBLE is a Cornwall based performance and event production company working locally, nationally & internationally, making people & projects possible that have the potential to change the world.  

Led by Creative Directors Gabby Vautier (Young Vic, Barbican, Kneehigh) & Charlie Bunker (Wildworks, ACE, Falmouth University).  

They are experts in development of new ideas & in 4 years have delivered over 30 creative projects. 

Charlie Fripp, Chris Lucas and Richard Butler

Charlie Fripp is a former BBC journalist and founder of Fieldgrazer Productions, which has produced a range of films, including “The Yukon Assignment”, directed by Chris Lucas.  Chris is an outdoor expert, director and founder of Wilderness Photographic and is a fellow of the Royal Geographic Society.  Chris is passionate about introducing people to the joys of wild country. Richard Butler leads the audio pathway for Falmouth's BA(Hons) Post Production & VFX degree, having worked as an audio editor and dubbing mixer in the UK’s broadcast sector and he still freelances within industry.

Chris Marshall, Tania Diez, and Sam Stone

Chris Marshall, Tania Diez, and Sam Stone are three freelancing collaborators. Chris, a 3D animator, BAFTA (Cymru) winner, and visual developer with 25+ years in broadcast media, is known for his environmental-themed 3D animations. Tania is an award-winning director with short films on BBC and Channel 4, and has directed notable TV dramas, earning a BAFTA nomination for Casualty. Sam, a Falmouth alumna, is a freelance writer specialising in TV and film scripts with experience in both the UK and France, and frequently volunteers as a script reader for festivals. 


Daisy Newburne Munn - Royal Cornwall Museum

Royal Cornwall Museum is an art gallery and museum preserving Cornwall's significant historical and natural artifacts, reflecting its culture and global ties. With four temporary exhibition spaces, it focuses on social justice and contemporary themes. Annually attracting over 41,000 visitors, it supports local schools through workshops and outreach and fosters community engagement through various programmes. Daisyworks there as the Exhibitions & Events Officer. 

Helen Bishop-Stephens - Bodmin Keep - Cornwall's Army Museum

Cornwall’s Regimental Museum, located in Bodmin Keep, showcases 300 years of military history and attracts around 7,000 visitors annually, with 32% from Cornwall. The museum educates through formal sessions and programmes like the Young Curator’s initiative. Recent projects, such as 'Military Maids,' engaged local young women in uncovering women's stories from the archive, boosting their confidence and interest in art. Participants reported newfound passions in fashion and photography, highlighting the museum's role in community well-being and education. 

Isobel Bloomfield and Ciaran Clarke

Isobel Bloomfield is a dance artist and curator representing St Just & District Trust CIO, an organisation who support heritage and cultural projects in St Just. The trust organises performances, workshops, and events to engage locals and educate visitors. The most notable of these is the St Just Ordinalia, last performed in 2021, attracting 6,000 attendees, with potential for national and international interest. 
 

Ciaran Clarke, a theatre maker and sound designer, enhances the trust’s offerings with his diverse skills in arts and heritage. His work includes sound design for BBC Radio 4 and creating a range of immersive experiences (utilising surround sound, ambisonics, binaural, as well as work for Oculus headsets), enriching storytelling through immersive technologies, often for the purposes of community engagement. 

Jane Spurr

Jane is a Cornish-based playwright, actor, and filmmaker working across multiple platforms, both solo and collaboratively. They create imaginative and diverse works in stage, screen, installation, and performance. Jane has won several awards for playwriting and have been a Lab Associate Artist at Theatre Royal Plymouth, as well as an Open Sessions writer in residence at Bristol Old Vic.  

Their experience includes performing at the Eden Project for seven years, engaging audiences worldwide, as well as being part of Paines Plough Tour the Writer, Year Two Mentored Writers cohort. They have worked with various organisations, including Tate St Ives, Newlyn Gallery, Hall For Cornwall,  Miracle Theatre, The Writer’s Block and O-Region. 


Jess Pemberton

Jess is a digital artist and live visual performer fascinated by the dysfunctional relationship between virtual and natural worlds. Playing upon a collage mindset, she aims to create interactive experiences that de-centre the user and contemplate the body in relation to digital space. She was previously part of @arebyte Hotel Generation programme and recently exhibited at @fluxusmuseum in Paros, Greece. 

Justin Wiggan

Justin Wiggan is an award-winning artist at the intersection of art and public intervention. His diverse practice encompasses sound, installation, film, and performance, aiming to engage communities with sound art for mental well-being. Through his program Internal Garden, he explores themes of plant consciousness and biosonification, fostering resilience and awareness of nature. His work has been recognised by institutions like the Eden Project and the British Science Association, showcasing the positive impact of sound on health. 

Katie Goode - Triangular Pixels

We are an award-winning independent game studio specialising in immersive XR experiences. We create high-quality games that push VR's boundaries, emphasising creativity, interaction, and fun. Our audience spans VR enthusiasts, casual gamers, and families in the UK and internationally, with 30% each in the EU, USA, and Asia. Games like Unseen Diplomacy and Smash Hit Plunder showcase our focus on unique, adventurous gameplay. 

Nick Winchester

I am a freelance video producer and editor, specialising in commercial, charity, music video, and documentary content for clients both locally and internationally. While my current work is traditional and does not yet incorporate immersive technologies, I recently participated in an Emerging and Immersive Technology Micro-Residency at Falmouth University's Centre for Blended Realities to enhance my skills in capture and processing techniques. My goal is to develop an immersive documentary project and apply these innovative techniques to commercial ventures for clients seeking new content formats. 


Sarah McAndrew

I am sole female founder of Inspirit360 Ltd - an immersive innovation studio specialising in virtual production, virtual influencers, and immersive experiences. We combine emerging technology with storytelling to foster a more inclusive and therapeutic digital landscape. Our work includes a virtual influencer talent agency, a content creation house for dynamic short form video, and immersive experiences to enhance mental health. We target underserved Gen Z and Millennials, focusing on empowering women and embracing diverse communities engaged in 

gaming and digital culture. We are building feminine traits into an AI powered 3D universe with our flagship project Mothers of the Metaverse. 

SHARP

I am a queer visual artist and activist whose interdisciplinary practice includes experimental video, photography, sculpture, and sound installations. Anchored in a photographic archive from the 1980s, I create large-scale and site-specific projects. Notable works include “Mourn Memory Hold Tight What Binds Us” at Undercliffe Cemetery and "The Memory Garden" installation at Manchester School of Art. My immersive soundscape “Reawaken with the Dead of Grosvenor Square” explores buried presences. I have exhibited widely and recently won The Exeter Contemporary Open. 

Tim Shaw

Belfast-born sculptor Tim Shaw RA’s work spans installation, robotics, film, performance, cast and beaten metal. Immersive works, like Breakdown Clown, blend AI with critique, while The Burning of Lifting the Curse, collected by Peter Gabriel, explores performance and ritual. Public commissions such as The Drummer in Truro, The Rites of Dionysus at Eden, and Man on Fire at Imperial War Museum North, winner of the 2024 PSSA Award for Excellence in Public Sculpture, confronts global issues with primal force. Shaw’s current Mumming-inspired sculptures examine ritual, reconciliation and environmental themes. 

Tricia Salt

Tricia is an artist, performer and creative producer based in South East Cornwall. She works from a studio at Maker Heights, using materials and processes gathered from coastal locations to create prints, paintings and other artworks. In partnership with technician and director of Echoes, Josh Kopeček, her immersive project expands this practice to include the gathering and processing of sound. Tricia has production experience in theatre shows, festivals, and workshops, and works separately as an ADHD coach, deepening her focus on accessibility and neurodiverse experiences of her work.
