Graduate Shorts Commission 2021

We work closely with the Sound/Image Cinema Lab at Falmouth University’s School of Film & Television to help students transition into working life and find opportunities to develop their skills in industry, which includes our annual open call for graduate and alumni short film funding.

Screen Cornwall, the Sound/Image Cinema Lab and the School of Film & Television are pleased to announce the 2021 graduate shorts open call. We are looking for diverse and bold storytelling, rooted in Cornwall. Projects should be filmed in the region, with the highest standards of COVID safety and the lightest carbon footprint.

This year there are 4 opportunities for funding: 

For all SOFT alumni:
£5,000 funding for a scripted short 

For 2021 graduates:
£2,000 scripted narrative film
£2,000 animation project
£2,000 documentary or experimental 

Please note that 2021 graduates may not apply for funding to complete their final year projects if filming was delayed due to COVID as this scheme is for new, post-graduation projects.
