Develop Your Short Film Script with Expert Guidance

Are you a Cornwall or Devon based writer with a compelling short film idea?

The New Writers Network is open again for 2025, offering aspiring screenwriters the chance to develop their short film scripts under the mentorship of experienced script editor Laura Jayne Tunbridge, as well as building their creative networks in the region.

Screen Cornwall’s New Writers Network programme, supported by BFI NETWORK South West, runs in parallel with the Peninsula Producers Network 2025.

What We Offer

  • 1:2:1 feedback session with BAFTA-nominated writer and script editor

  • A supportive environment and network to nurture your creative vision

Key dates

Session 1: Thursday 7th November – afternoon / early evening – in person in Cornwall

Session 2: Thursday 12th December 2024 – online 1:2:1 with script editor

Session 3: Thursday 6th February 2025 - all day pass for events at Exeter Phoenix, Two Short Nights Film Festival. with group session for both PPN and NWN cohorts during the day.

If selected, you must be available to attend an online feedback session on Thursday 12th December.
