Announcing the Peninsula Producers Network 2025

Screen Cornwall and Exeter Phoenix are pleased to partner with BFI NETWORK South West again on the fourth iteration of the Peninsula Producers Network, a development programme designed specifically for new and emerging producers in Devon and Cornwall. This programme will run in parallel with the New Writers Network 2025.

The Peninsula Producers 2025 cohort will receive support and guidance, in a series of events held online and in person, to develop their producing skills and expand their knowledge of distribution and audiences.

Kelly McDonald

Kelly comes from Belfast, Northern Ireland where she grew up with a passion for theatre and performance. She followed this passion to study a Joint Honours Degree in English Literature and Theatre Studies at the University of Sussex in the vibrant city of Brighton. During her time in Brighton she volunteered at the Fringe Festival, with Otherplace Productions, seeing a plethora of performance and gaining valuable insights. Upon graduating during the pandemic, Kelly secured a position at Sussex Innovation’s Catalyst scheme. The Catalsyt scheme employed graduates who were keen to continue their learning practically. Kelly supported a variety of SMEs with sales, marketing, events and administration, and was promoted to Project Manager where she had the privilege of welcoming and supporting the new cohort of graduates, assigning their projects and securing new clients. At the start of 2022 Kelly left the South East, travelling West to join the Hall for Cornwall. She co-ordinated the venue’s diary of events both on stage and off. This year Kelly has started a new role as Get Creative Assistant Producer where she continues to host a variety of creative events, with a focus on supporting the production of their in-house Christmas Show. Kelly is incredibly excited to be a part of the Peninsula Producer’s Network to gain valuable industry knowledge and meet like-minded people.

Robin Chandler-Payne

Robin is a freelance filmmaker, producer, and assistant director based in Cornwall and Devon. With a focus on retelling of historical and moral stories, Robin has worked on a range of period films whilst at university, including directing a historical drama in their final year at Falmouth University. They’ve also taken on the roles of 1st Assistant Director on a feature and runner for BBC’s Great British Menu. Robin has also worked on Structure, a short experimental film commissioned by Screen Cornwall and is passionate about collaborating with creative teams to produce diverse and engaging stories. They are keen to connect with filmmakers who share a love for historical storytelling and visual creativity.

Lucy Mainstone

After graduating from Falmouth, Lucy started working in talent management with actors and VO artists in London before moving in to HETV casting in Vancouver, working on The Good Doctor for ABC, and Warner Brothers titles including The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, Riverdale and DC's Legends of Tomorrow. Since moving home to Cornwall she's worked in factual TV as a Researcher on Simon Reeve's Return to Cornwall for the BBC and Cornwall Air 999 for Discovery, with Beagle Media. Most recently she’s supported on indie feature projects across scripted and documentary with Maximalist and awen productions, alongside working at Falmouth University, developing, shooting and editing content for their employability team. She's currently busily in pre-production on a short film, her first Producer role.

Lucinda Baird

Lucinda has 8 years of experience working in High-End Television and Film, as a Production Secretary and Assistant Coordinator on such shows as Delicious, Fishermen's Friends and Sanditon. Most recently, she worked as the Production Manager on the reboot of Bergerac for Banijay & UKTV. Her creative journey has seen her obtain a fashion & textiles degree and run her own small clothing brand. Lucinda has a great deal of experience of filming in the South-West and has fostered close working relationships with local crews, locations and facilities. She brings a fresh, business-like attitude and a grounded perspective to any endeavour with emphasis on creating approachable and inclusive production teams. Her background in education and mental health means she is motivated to foster engagement with every member of a production and create a sustainable and supportive environment. It is important to her that she can continue to develop this upwards and is something she would like to nurture as an aspiring producer. Now ready to move onto the next stage of television production she is keen to use her creative thinking to encourage inclusion and growth in film and TV drama.

Dom Weeks

Dom was born and raised in West Cornwall, upon graduating he launched his career in the creative industries. He honed his skills working with local theatre companies, film festivals and production crews, gaining valuable production experience. He went on to foster a successful career as a Production Coordinator within Film & TV broadcast and continues to work throughout the southwest region. With a versatile skillset spanning drama, factual entertainment, live events, and nature documentaries, Dom has coordinated a wide array of BBC productions, including the longstanding series Casualty and Antiques Roadshow. He's also contributed to special events like The Coronation Concert and the heart-warming natural history series Big Little Journeys. Dom thrives on collaborating with people to bring creative ideas and stories to life. He cannot wait to bring his expertise to this year's cohort, in the development of some exciting new projects.

Andrew Nile

Andrew, from Plymouth, began his producing career while living and studying in Falmouth, where he developed a passion for music videos and short films. Working closely with musicians and other creatives, he built a strong foundation in production, bringing unique stories to life on screen. After his time in Falmouth, he transitioned to working in production offices on TV dramas, including the Bergerac reboot for UKTV, which gave him valuable insight into larger-scale productions. Now, Andrew is looking to return to producing his own content, with an eye on bigger projects and the goal of developing a feature film. He’s particularly interested in telling stories that center on music, the environment, and societal change. With a mix of hands-on experience in both independent projects and high-end TV, he’s eager to take the next steps in his career, collaborating with others who share his passion for storytelling and pushing creative boundaries.

Joab Elkerton

Joab Elkerton is a freelance filmmaker, having worked on a variety of commissioned projects. Joab Elkerton has contributed to several short films, including Pillow Talk, King Henry, and Konin, all commissioned by Screen Cornwall. Additionally, Joab Elkerton has worked on Poll Pri, a BFI-commissioned film, and Pieces of Us for Kernowfornia Film Company, where they gained valuable insight into storytelling, project management, and team coordination. Passionate about creating compelling narratives, Joab Elkerton thrives in dynamic production environments, bringing strong organisational skills and a creative mindset to every project. Their work reflects a commitment to accurate representation and meaningful storytelling, with a focus on projects that explore diverse social and cultural issues.
