Location of the month - Pentillie Castle
Set at the centre of a 2000-acre estate with far-reaching views of the Tamar Valley, the late-Georgian period Pentillie Castle is a traditional country house and estate. The grand house retains much of its original character, with 11 individually styled bedrooms and a large farmhouse kitchen. The estate boasts many unique and historical features such as a bell tower, a 200m-long avenue of mature lime trees planted in 1837 and an 18th-century mausoleum.
Pentillie is set within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, situated on the Cornish bank of the river Tamar. The estate is secluded, yet only a 20-minute drive from Plymouth where there are excellent transport connections. Pentillie is a family-run estate with a team that is adept at welcoming film crews, with all three seasons of Sky One drama Delicious shooting in the house and surrounding areas.
