Screen Cornwall Supports New Entrants at ScreenSkills TV 'Need to Knows' Training

In July 2024, Screen Cornwall supported twenty-one aspiring TV professionals at the ScreenSkills TV 'Need to Knows' training day, led by industry facilitator Dom Weeks in Saltash. This event is a crucial part of the application process for First Break, a programme funded by the ScreenSkills High-end TV Skills Fund for those new to the industry.

Through the programme, ScreenSkills work with broadcasters, production companies and local partners to encourage, nurture and support individuals to explore a career in TV, giving them the initial tools, knowledge and taster experiences of working in the industry. For the third year, ScreenSkills is partnering with Red Planet Pictures and Screen Cornwall in Cornwall & Devon on First Break. This collaboration continues to offer valuable work experience opportunities on the popular TV series "Beyond Paradise," providing a gateway for local people to enter the world of high-end television production.
