Deadline to register: Friday 8th October
Led by documentary filmmaker and lecturer Caroline Deeds, this session is for anyone that has a personal passion project – short or long-form – that is a work in progress. Perhaps it's a story that hit a roadblock and never came to completion and you're not ready to let go of it just yet. Procrastination processes, personal setbacks and production hiccups can all shed light on the raw processes of our creativity. We encourage participants to interact by sharing experiences of films never brought to completion and examine what these projects teach us about ourselves and our stories. We’ll look at some of the common themes that cause projects to lose momentum and what you can do to unblock that. We will examine the idea of time lost and reframe it to question if there is value in the passage of time for your project. Maybe time is what this idea needed to uncover hidden truths. Whether it’s story /personal energy-related or intensely practical.
We’re keeping the group to a relatively small number in order that it can be properly interactive so please register by noon on Friday 8th October and we will confirm your place on Monday 11th October. Using the link below, please give us a short description of your project, what stage it’s at and links to any materials you are happy to share with others. We’ll ask you to opt-in to share these with other attendees in the spirit of mutual peer support. Chatham House rules will apply.
