Screen Cornwall plays a leading role in supporting skills development and talent progression across the film, television and immersive media sectors in Cornwall and the wider South West.
Our programmes are designed to strengthen the regional workforce, foster innovation and create sustainable career pathways within the screen industries.
We collaborate with key industry partners, including BFI Network South West, BBC Writers’ Room, Calling the Shots / BBC New Creatives and Falmouth University, to deliver high-quality training, professional development and funding opportunities. These partnerships ensure that creatives and crew have access to industry-relevant skills, networks and career progression routes.
By investing in talent at all levels, Screen Cornwall is helping to build a resilient, skilled and diverse screen sector, positioning Cornwall as a competitive and connected production hub within the UK.
If you are keen to work in a crew role, please contact our Film Office team. If you are a writer, director or producer contact the Talent email address on our Connect page.
All new entrants should make sure they are signed up to our newsletter and following our social media to hear to about specific opportunities.
The industry is well-served with resources and content about various roles and pathways, with key organisations relevant to those still in education highlighted on our Careers & Outreach page.
We tailor our programmes to skills gaps in the region and publish all opportunities on social media and via targeted emails to our crew and talent databases. Examples of previous skills programmes for crew can be found here and for talent here. We will also signpost regional and national programmes as appropriate.
At every career stage, you’re welcome to speak to the team about your next steps. Please contact the relevant emails to request a 121 meeting.
We offer project based work experience for years 10 or 12 during a single week in July, advertised through multiple channels at the start of each year. As we are a small team we are unfortunately not able to offer office work experience or anything on film & TV sets for those under 18.
We always suggest that crew follow the guidelines in Filming in England’s New Entrants Handbook.
At Screen Cornwall, we have exciting news and opportunities we hope you’d like to hear about, by providing your email address that means you’d like to stay up to date by receiving our monthly newsletter.
