Are you interested in a craft, technical or production role in a film or TV crew?

Screen Cornwall is now accepting applications for the third and final cohort of our BFI-funded industry skills programme, Production Ready Pathways.

Apply HERE
Deadline for applications: Monday 1st June 2026, 5pm

What does it mean to be part of a cohort?
After the initial training, the cohort will receive ongoing mentoring and support from the Screen Cornwall Film Office for six months. It will also contribute to building your network as a freelancer and involve peer support. This programme is designed to act as a feeder for future opportunities, including potential paid work, onward training, and industry experiences as they arise.

Is this for you?
We are looking for individuals with a genuine passion for the screen industry. You do not necessarily need prior film experience, but you must be able to demonstrate your soft skills, ambitions and show how your personal skills make you a strong fit for the fast-paced world of production. Whether you have previously made your own short films or are coming from a background in hospitality, construction, administration, or another sector, we want to know how your skills are transferable to working on a film set.

This scheme is open to everyone age 18+ who has finished their education. We believe that a great crew is a diverse crew, and we are particularly interested in hearing from individuals from underrepresented backgrounds in the screen industries and those looking for a direct, vocational route into work.

What current cohort members have said:
I managed to learn so much from everyone I’ve met. I’ve made new friends to whom I still keep in contact with and also got great industry contacts, some of which offered me work I would highly recommend the Production Ready Pathway to anyone who is interested in working in the Film/TV industry, but doesn’t know how to get their first foot in the door.

Key Skills Focuses:
The film industry depends on a variety of crew roles. This scheme is designed to support local skills shortages.
We are interested in applications from people considering pathways within the following roles:

  • Floor Runners
  • Production Runners
  • Sound Assistants
  • Grips
  • Lighting

This scheme is designed to support freelance workers within feature film and HETV. It is not designed to support on-screen talent, writing or directorial roles.

  • Ongoing Mentorship and CV Advice: Professional guidance and expert tips to help you refine your profile and navigate the freelance world.
  • Industry Experience: Inclusion in a small, select talent pool.

While we cannot guarantee paid placements, our team actively puts this pool forward for paid work and professional experiences on productions filming within Cornwall

Who can apply?
To ensure this programme supports Cornwall’s long-term growth, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Must be 18 or over.
  • Completed your education.
  • Currently living in a Cornwall-based postcode and intending to be based in here for at least the next 12 months.
