INVESTMENT

Production Investment

Screen Cornwall Equity Production Investment (SCEPI) is a jointly financed public-private source of equity investment, supported by Cornwall Council’s Good Growth Fund (Shared Prosperity Fund) and private investors, managed and delivered by Screen Cornwall.

It has been designed to drive economic impact in the Cornwall and Isles of Scilly (CIOS) region, stimulate opportunities for local freelancers and businesses and create positive financial returns.

KEY FACTS

  • Projects must shoot in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly (CIOS) region.
  • Our investment may be up to £500k investment and is based on a minimum 4:1 spend (Qualifying Spend) ratio.
  • Applications for less than £150k, or which shoot for less than a week in the region, are unlikely to be supported unless they are produced, directed or written by Local Talent (see definition of Local Talent in our Guidelines).
  • Local Talent may, after discussion with the Screen Cornwall team, apply slightly earlier than applicants who are not resident in the region.
  • Your business does not have to be registered in Cornwall to apply, but you must be an experienced producer in the medium for which you are applying.
  • We invest in live action or animated: a) narrative feature films; b) scripted television drama or comedy including children’s programming; c) immersive projects produced for paying audiences.  We prioritise projects with Cornish links.
  • Executive Producer fees and legal costs of the transaction will need to be covered by the production.
  • SCEPI investment is recoupable as senior equity and projects will be evaluated based on potential return for investment.
  • Projects must meet SCEPI Minimum Requirements and our team will be looking for projects which also engage well with the Assessment Criteria.

For definitions and further detail please review our Guidelines carefully.

Screen Cornwall reserves the right to make changes to the SCEPI scheme at any time in its absolute discretion. Neither Screen Cornwall nor any of its partners shall be responsible for any loss attributable to errors or omissions in these Guidelines.
